N2 - The aqueous solutions of polyrotaxanes composed of polyethylene glycol and methylated α-CDs were investigated by DSC, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and rheological measurements. With increasing temperature, these aqueous solutions show sol to gel transition since hydrophobic interaction among methylated CDs. Rheological properties of MePR solutions revieals that the solutions show critical behavior near sol-gel transition threashold. The scaling exponent of this solution was close to the value predicted by the gel percolation theory.
