Study of applicability to use UHF band RFID tag for location management of a patient

UHF band RFID tags are proceeding in many applications. Authors have been continued examination in use UHF tags at medical field to serve patient or increase management efficiency in hospital. In many applications at medical field. Authors pay attention to the human location management. But to use UHF band RFID tags attached on human body moisture causes serious gain of its communication distance so its hard to utilize. In this matter authors check an efficient method to detach a fixed distance from human body and had made a wristband type UHF band RFID tags, and had an experiment with the cooperation of Sapporo Medical University Hospital after survey of its safety to the Medical device and equipment embedded human body. As the result authors found that the UHF band RFID wristband were effective equipment for location management about patient or staff in hospital.
