Angular distributions of desorbing CO2 and the surface structure transformation of (1X2) into (1X1) on Pt(110) in the course of CO oxidation were studied through the analysis of both AR product measurements and LEED intensity. It was found that CO2 is highly formed on the declining (111) terraces of (1X2) domains, except for high CO pressure above the site switching. The productivity of CO2 per unit area of (1X2) domains increased more than ten times in the inhibited region. Furthermore, the switching observed from angular distribution changes was sensitive to the disappearance of (1X2) domains.
